Gov Con Controller/Manager - Vienna, VA

Cordia Partners provides a tailored approach to serving our clients with bottom line results. This position manages the daily operations for Accounting and transactions for multiple clients and oversees client close processes, supervises all facets of operational accounting and financial package development, and directly interacts with client personnel.  They are further responsible for working to streamline processes and assign and manage staff work at the proper level.  Their other responsibilities include ensuring the implementation of accounting best practices and compliance with Federal and State tax laws, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance, and internal controls.  Given the nature of our company, this position will also be actively engaged in the ongoing transition of platforms and products needed to support the growth of our clients.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the month end closing process including but not limited to account reconciliations and financial statement packages development.
  • Reviews and analyzes the monthly financial statements and determines reasons for monthly variance explanations.
  • Researches and prepares reports and graphics/charts as requested by the client or senior management.
  • In conjunction with senior management, assists in determining work assignments, priorities and performance expectations for staff.  Trains staff on software, procedures, and reporting as needed.
  • Provides guidance on proper accounting treatment.
  • Responsible for supporting and participating in client audits including development of auditor requested (PBC) items.
  • Provides additional services including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and provisional rate development as needed.
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of each assigned client’s business and the accounting operations within them.
  • Oversees preparation of the clients’ year-end Form 1099 submissions.
  • Recommends, designs, and implements any necessary department controls and procedures.
  • Communicates and coordinates with clients to ensure that all work is completed timely, accurately, and as promised.

 Qualifications:

  • Requires strong supervisory, organizational, analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and demonstrate the ability to manage and coach employees.
  • Executive level communication skills demonstrating the ability to extract relevant information from a large volume of data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or degree in related field combined with relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the government contractor accounting field with at least 3 years as a manager
  • Proficiency in the use of automated accounting system software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government contracting regulations (FAR)
  • Advanced understanding of general and subsidiary ledgers and financial statements

Administrative Assistant/Receptionist - Vienna, VA

Our firm is looking for a self-motivated person to assist in managing the office and handle duties for upper management.  The ability to multi-task while maintaining complex schedules and managing administrative support is essential in this position. The standard work hours are from 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m., which is not negotiable.  The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist is the face of the firm and his/her presence is necessary during the core office hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Embody client service attitude by warmly greeting all clients and vendors at the front desk, courteously answer and transfer phone calls, ensure office/kitchen supplies are stocked, arrange for equipment maintenance, and ensure common spaces are presentable at all times.
  • Open and route incoming mail, prepare and forward outgoing mail and packages, and maintain cash receipt log.
  • Assist with proposals and presentations. This can include reformatting documents, collating and creation of large documents, and working within a short deadline.
  • Perform general clerical and other related duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing as required.
  • Move and lift supplies and other items as needed.
